About Us

Builders Screen and Aluminum is built upon a strong foundation of a family tradition of excellence.

Two decades ago, Dan Hughes began building a reputation for work done right when he opened a siding business in the central Missouri area. In 1994 he established Hughes Construction, a custom-home building company that quickly became one of the most sought-after contractors in the area. In 2000, responding to an expanding need around Lake of the Ozarks, Hughes incorporated custom railing into his construction business.

Dan’s son, Tim, joined Hughes Construction in 1998. By 2005 he had purchased the railing portion of Hughes Construction and began to expand operations. Tim bought the entirety of Hughes Construction in 2006.

Recognizing the increasing demand for quality railing, stairs and screen enclosures, Tim acquired Builders Screen and Aluminum and ABC Powdercoating in 2009, bringing with him the tradition of hard work, fair prices and attention to detail that had made Hughes Construction a strong force in the lake-area market.

Tim expanded BSA operations, offering welded steel and aluminum railing and broadening ABC services to include powdercoating of car frames, lawn furniture and other items in addition to railing coatings.

Dan Hughes moved from the construction business into management coordination with a major manufacturing firm. In 2011, as BSA/ABC experienced exceptional growth, Dan joined the organization as a management consultant.

Today, the family tradition of excellence continues as BSA has become a trusted provider of railing, stairs and screen enclosures.
